You’re here because you either Googled my name or because you found this blog on my resume.
I know! What crazy person puts their whole life on the internet, for the whole world to see and then puts the link on their resume?
Yes, this crazy person.
You’ve found me out.
You see, you don’t need to search in murky, dusty closets for my skeletons, they’re all here, proudly on display in beautiful perspex cases. I’ve even helpfully labeled them for you right there on the right – mental health, sole parenting, domestic violence, ASD, children, etc.
In fact, the only crazy thing about me is that I’m not ashamed of my skeletons and I don’t understand why most people are. I live with the crazy notion that we are all human and we all have our quirks and weird things that we do and believe and we have all done stupid and crazy things and it’s all those things that make us interesting. And it’s those things that make me want to know you.
If you believe that you can’t handle working with someone who is real and not ashamed of their past, or even of their present, then by all means, please don’t hire me.
At the same time, please don’t labour under the delusion that I’m going to come into work every day and bore you with the details of my mental health, sole parenting, or emotional abuse, etc, etc. That’s what my therapist and my blog are for. I’m just like any other person, coming into work to do my job to the best of my abilities, make friends with my co-workers and go home to make dinner for my kidlets. I am not THAT crazy.
I am not going to blog about my day at work. I am not going to blog about you or my coworkers. I never have. I did blog about being fired, but only my close friends knew the company involved.
And if you don’t want to know about the inner workings of my brain, just don’t read this blog.
All you need to know is that I am a good worker. I am loyal, I have your best interest at heart, I get along with most people, I am an excellent problem solver and I love doing a great job. I am a fast learner and a fast worker. People are always amazed at how quickly I can get a job done and how quickly I can settle into a new situation. I am an excellent writer and love computers. Digital media is my thing, but if the job I’ve applied for with you does not involve that, then I will still do a great job, because I pride myself on doing a good job. Whether it’s packing a box, writing a letter, or creating a website, I will want to do the best job I possibly can.
So don’t be alarmed that you found this blog.
It’s all good.
