Believe it or not, I’m going to another blogging conference. You’d think that after 5 in the last 3 years, I’d have had enough? No, I keep being drawn to fellow bloggers and to fabulous speakers, such as those at the upcoming Problogger Training Event on the Gold Coast.
Did you read that? The Gold Coast!
I think I am more excited about a few days alone on the Gold Coast than the actual conference. I mean, a hotel room all to myself, no responsibilities and actual evenings out with people I know, or will soon know. How awesome is that?
And of course, I’ve began freaking out about what to wear. What’s the weather up there at this time of year? How warm exactly? Shall I bring my summer dresses, or will I look silly? And I don’t even have my business cards yet. Very slack…
I’m treating this as much more than a conference, more of a well deserved holiday, with some learning thrown in.
I remember how freaked out I was at my first ever blogging conference, back in 2011. The people!! I was so completely peopled out at the end of it that I gave myself a migraine.
These days I still get peopled out, but I know how to manage it, by hiding in corners when I can, or retreating to my room for a session or two. Also, I tend to stick with people I already know and meet new people through them, rather than boldly walk up to complete strangers. No, that will never be me.
If you missed out on a ticket, or simply cannot handle the idea of a conference, you can still participate by buying the Problogger Virtual Pass. It gives you access to all the sessions’ audio and slides. And I’m sure that there will be people live blogging the whole event, so watch out for those and follow us along.
In the meantime, in complete contrast, I’m taking the boys to the snow this weekend. I’ve been promising them snow for the past two years, so I finally had to do something about it. As our winters seem to be getting milder, better now than later!
So, there is a bit of travelling in my near future, just the way I like it. Happy days!
Do you love travel and seeing new places?
